‘Where can you get the best burger in New Orleans?
“Company Burger is the best burger in town for sure, and possibly the best burger I’ve ever had. You can trust me–I’ve had a lot of burgers.” said Kaj Friis-Hecht, a junior here at the Willow School. “I’ve eaten a lot of good food, but Company Burger is one of the most consistent restaurants in my opinion.”
With a casual laid back atmosphere, very straightforward menu, authentic food that is consistently good, and a great, friendly staff, what more could you ask for in a restaurant? Well, look no further when in the Uptown area. Company Burger is a great place to grab a bite to eat whenever you want. It’s open everyday but Tuesday from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m.
The menu offers a very consistent and straightforward list of options.
“That’s what I like about the restaurant,” junior Elodie Provosty said. “I always know what I’m gonna get.”
Of course, the beloved Company Burger itself headlines the menu. This burger consists of two patties ground and then formed in house with all natural hormone- and antibiotic-free prime beef, layered with two pieces of classic American cheese, red onions, and topped off with house made sweet pickles–all on a lightly toasted bun baked that morning. If you want to top off your burger with a little extra flavor, you can add an egg and/or bacon.
To make the burger even better, you can pair it with a side of fries, but even better than the fries are the tater tots. These tots are the perfect mix of light and fluffy and are especially good under a dollop of Cheese-Whiz and a sprinkle of green onions. Although I was skeptical about the use of Cheez-Whiz at first, it turned out to be the best light and creamy compliment to the tater tots and green onions. Moving on to my personal favorite, the onion rings, which are of course made in house with purple onions (which I’ve never seen anywhere else). This gives the onion almost a hint of sweetness. Then to top off these treats, head over to the mayo bar where you can find a selection of different mayonnaises that are also made right there in the restaurant. You’ll have an option of regular mayo, basil mayo, chipotle mayo, garlic mayo, or fancy mayo, which is a blend of ketchup and regular mayonnaise.
The milkshakes bring a delicious creamy twist to the menu. With a variety of milkshake flavors, Company Burger serves all the classics plus special shakes that change every month, ranging from sweet and salty shakes to classics that just aren’t on the everyday menu. This is what really sets them apart from their competitors. The shakes are rich, creamy, decadent, and bring the classic soft serve mouth feel. “You can’t go wrong with cookies and cream, it’s a classic that Company Burger executes so well,” Friis-Hecht said.
In addition to the wonderful food, the staff is extremely kind and helpful. There’s no reason not to tip extra when you’re in good Company!
