As it has been for the past two years, Prom 2024 was held at Club LXIV. On April 20th, 2024, in this spacious venue, the dancing room briefly featured a surprise DJ performance by Willow seniors Kalani Ramirez and Alex Lupin.
“I love how they let students take part in the DJ performance,” junior Abby Gotzkowksy said.
The crowd was excited, and everyone seemed to enjoy the performance, as well as the separate room for more personal conversation, eating, and sitting when they overexerted themselves dancing.
But the main story of the night was that the color red seemed to be the new black. Red dresses and accessories were everywhere. Several people wearing the color said it was a coincidence, but there was such a sea of red in people’s clothing, it seemed to portend a new trend in formalwear.
As for the food selection, junior Emile Ofengenden said, “The food’s OK, but I wish there was more of a selection.”
But the teachers present who have been to three proms at the venue were thrilled to see sandwiches added this year. “Usually, there’s just desserts. I’m very happy about the sandwiches!” Ms. Duffy said.
There were also two photo areas, one being a photo booth with costumes and instant prints, and the other being a nice backdrop and a professional photographer promgoers could opt to purchase.
The afterparty at Dave and Buster’s went well into the wee hours.
